Waivers are an essential part of PlayByPoint’s system, ensuring compliance and safeguarding facilities. In this guide, we'll walk through how staff can create waivers, assign them, and understand their specific use cases.
Step 1 | Enable Waiver Settings
Before creating waivers, ensure the waiver system is active:
- Go to Settings in the admin dashboard.
- Navigate to Facility Rules and enable the Active Waiver Rule
- Toggle Enable and click update
- Why? This ensures waivers appear where needed in the booking or registration process.
Step 2 | Navigate to the Waivers Section
- From Settings, click on Waivers.
- Click Add Waiver to begin creating a new waiver.
- You’ll see several categories of waivers. Each serves a unique purpose in the system.
Step 3 | Types of Waivers and Their Use Cases
1. Children’s Waiver
- Allows parents or guardians to agree to terms for their child’s participation.
2. Membership Start Waiver
- Appears before completing a membership purchase.
3. Booking Waiver
- Appears immediately after clicking Book Now to begin the booking process.
- Can be set as a one-time or every-time agreement through Advanced Settings > Reservation Rules
4. Program Waiver
- Appears immediately after selecting a program to join or enroll.
- Can be assigned as a one-time or every-time agreement per program.
5. Facility Start Waiver
- Appears when a player first joins a facility as a one-time agreement.
Step 4 | Creating a Waiver
- Click Add Waiver and fill out the details:
- Category: Select the waiver type (e.g., Booking Waiver, Program Waiver).
- Title: Choose a descriptive name (e.g., “General Liability Waiver”).
- Description: Include specific terms and conditions.
- Save your waiver.
Note: While PlayByPoint provides tools for managing waivers, we do not create waivers on behalf of clubs. Each facility is responsible for crafting waivers that meet their legal and insurance requirements. We strongly recommend consulting an attorney or your insurance provider to draft waivers tailored to your club’s specific needs.
Facilities can add as many waivers as necessary, covering all aspects of their operations.
Step 5 | Assigning Waivers
After creating waivers, they must be assigned to specific actions or programs:
For Program Waivers
- Go to Programs in the admin dashboard.
- Edit the program and navigate to the Waivers section.
- Select the appropriate waiver and choose whether it’s one-time or every-time.
For Booking Waivers
- Go to Advanced Settings > Reservation Rules.
- Scroll to Booking Waiver Type and select one-time or every-time
Step 6 | How Players Can Access Waivers
Players can access waivers directly through their PlayByPoint accounts:
-
During Registration or Booking:
- Booking Waivers: Displayed immediately after clicking Book Now to start the process.
- Program Waivers: Displayed right after selecting a program to join.
- Membership Waivers: Prompts before completing the membership purchase.
-
