How to Request a Private App

Overview:

Welcome! This guide outlines the steps required to initiate and complete the private app creation process during onboarding. 

Step 1: CNAME Setup

• CNAME Creation:
  • Set up a CNAME for the private app as part of the white-label configuration.

Note: reach out to your onboarding agent so they can assist with CNAME verification process once completed

Step 2: Create Developer Accounts

• IOS Developer Account:
  • The client must create an iOS developer account to enable app deployment on Apple devices.
  • Follow the instructions provided here: How to Create an Apple Developer Account
• Google Developer Account:
  • The client must also create a Google Developer account for Android app deployment.
  • Follow the instructions provided here: How to Create a Google Developer Account

Step 3: Complete the Private App Request Form

• Initiate Private App Build
  • Please complete the Private app request form so the product team can start building your app: Private App Request Form Link
  • Steps 1 and 2 must be completed to fill out the form. 

Private App Creation Timeline

Phase 1: Submit Form & Create Developer Accounts

• Task: Step up CNAME
• Duration: 5 minutes.
• Task: Set up Developer Accounts for iOS and Google.
• Duration: Up to 1 week (average processing time).
• Notes: The speed of this step depends on Apple and Google’s processing times.
• Task: Complete the Private App Creation Form.
• Duration: 1-2 minutes.

Phase 2: App Development

• Task: Our team begins building your private app.
• Duration: 2-4x weeks.
• Notes: The timeline may vary depending on the complexity of your app and specific customizations.

Phase 3: App Submission for Review

• Task: We submit the app to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for review.
• Duration: 48-72 hours (average).
• Notes: Apple and Google may approve or reject the app within this timeframe. If rejected, additional time may be required to address feedback and resubmit.

Phase 4: Final Approval & Launch

• Task: Upon approval, your app is ready to go live.
• Total Estimated Duration: 3-6 weeks from the submission of the form to app launch.

• Delays: Unexpected delays can occur due to external factors such as extended review times by Apple or Google. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process.
• Communication: We recommend staying in close contact with our onboarding and product teams to ensure a smooth process.
