To link your custom website to the Playbypoint white-label software web app, follow these steps:
Step 1: Access Your Domain Hosting Provider
- Log in to your domain hosting provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Bluehost, Google Domains, etc.).
- Navigate to the DNS settings or DNS management section. This is where you can manage your domain's DNS records.
Step 2: Create a CNAME Record
In the DNS settings, you'll need to create a CNAME record. Here’s how to do it:
-
Add a new record:
- Look for an option to add a new DNS record. This might be labeled as “Add Record” or something similar.
-
Select CNAME as the record type:
- Choose CNAME (Canonical Name) from the list of record types. This type of record is used to point one domain to another.
-
Fill in the required fields:
- Name/Host: Enter
book
. This is the subdomain you are creating. It will be appended to your main domain (e.g.,book.yourdomain.com
). - Value/Points to: Enter
masaya.playbypoint.com
. This is the destination that your CNAME will point to. - TTL (Time to Live): You can usually leave this at the default value (commonly set to 1 hour).
- Name/Host: Enter
-
Save your changes:
- After entering the required information, save the new CNAME record.
Step 3: Inform Us for Backend Configuration
Once you've created the CNAME record, the final step is to inform us so that we can complete the backend configuration necessary to finalize the link between your custom domain and the Playbypoint web app.
Example of a CNAME Record:
Field | Value |
---|---|
Name | book |
Type | CNAME |
Points to | masaya.playbypoint.com |
TTL | Default (1 hour or 3600) |
After these steps are completed and we finish the backend configuration, your custom website will be fully linked to your Playbypoint white-label web app.
