This guide is meant to help you understand the different membership statuses and subscription states and can help you manage your membership effectively.
Membership Status:
- Valid: A membership is considered valid if its expiration date is in the future.
- Invalid: A membership becomes invalid if its expiration date is in the past. Additionally, if the membership subscription status is "paused," the membership is also considered invalid. This means the client cannot use their membership until it is unpaused.
Membership Subscription Status:
- Idle: No automatic renewal.
- Active: Automatic renewal is enabled.
- Paused: Membership is temporarily inactive due to user action (e.g., pausing the subscription).
- Canceled: Membership will not renew automatically after the current period ends.
- Failed: Membership renewal failed due to payment being declined.
Invalid Membership Error:
- Payment failed: ["Decline"]: Card declined
- Payment failed: ["Invalid card"]: Card number/details error
- User doesn't have a default payment method: No card on file
- Payment failed: ["Not sufficient funds"]: Insufficient funds
- Payment failed: ["There was a problem processing your payment, please try again!"]: Card declined
- Payment failed: ["Restricted card"]: Card could not be processed
