How to Set Up Lesson & Commission Rates for Teachers

Learn the new lesson rate management in our system to find everything you need for your club teachers.

In this guide, we'll go over the new Lesson Rate management and look inside the administrative general settings for facilities. The lesson rate management is now easier to find and right underneath it, you'll also get easy access to Commission Rates. We'll go over these, too. 

Now, to get started setting up your club's Lesson Rates, follow the next steps:

1. Log into your Playbypoint account.
2. Go to Manage Bookings.
3. Go to Settings.
   
   
    
4. Under General Settings, find Pro Lesson Rates.
   
   
    
5. Once inside, press the Add New Tier button.
   
   
    
6.  Start by naming the tier to get organized with your lesson rates. For example, if this will be the standard, then name it “Standard Rate.”
   
   
    
7.  Then, press on Add Price Rate. This setting will let you specify everything. 
   
   
   
   However, if you want to set a fixed price, skip this step and just input the Lesson rate for 1 hour per player.
   
   
    
8. Now, let's go back to the Price Rate setup, you can really go in-depth into how much you want to charge players per lesson, if it's a private 1 on 1 lesson or if it's a group lesson.
   
   
   
   Here are the explanations for each:
   - Players: Number of players this lesson rate will based on. For example, 5 players.
   
   - Duration: How many hours this rate is for. For example, 1 hour.
   
   - Player Category: What is the players' affiliation that can participate in this lesson rate. For example, you might want to charge yearly membership users less than monthly membership users.
   
   - User Type: Simply designate whether this is an Adult or Child user type for this lesson rate.
   
   - Shift: The time of the day when this lesson rate will be implemented. For example, you might want to increase the lesson rate for primetime and decrease for lowtime.
   
   - Surface: The court surface type where this lesson rate will be implemented. For example, you might have both indoor and outdoor courts and want to charge different rates per surface type.
   
   - Price: Lastly, you can set up the fixed rate price in this box.
   
   Next, press Add to get the price rate inside the lesson rate settings and…
   
   
   Don't forget that after you've completed your setup, you'll need to press Save Changes.
   
   
   
   Next up, let's talk Commission Rates. Now, you can find the settings for Commission Rates right under the Pro Lesson Rates.
   
   
   
   To set up Commission Rates, follow these steps:
   
   1. Once inside, press on Add New Tier.
   
   
   2. Let's start by naming the tier.
   
   3. You can start by naming a standard commission rate to set your base.
   
   4. Next up, you get to decide whether or not the commission rate is going to be based on the percentage price per lesson rate. To do so, just toggle the button to enable this.
   
   
   
   5. After this, you'll see that the Lesson rate for: 1 Player, 1h will change from a $ sign to a % sign, signaling that rule you just enable to count towards percentage and not fixed price.
   
   
   
   6. Input the percentage of commission rate that a teacher will get from a lesson rate of 1 hour per 1 player. For example, 10%.
   
   
   
   7. The next rule will be the program rate for: 1 h. This means that you're setting a fixed commission rate for a 1-hour program. For example, if a program rate is $25 you can designate the fixed commission to be $10 for any program rate that is 1 hour long. You can also set this to be percentage based.
   
   
   
   
   8. Lastly, Save Changed to finish implementing these commission rate rules.
